With a population of around 12 million, almost a million are students and about 2 million are foreigners. About 14,000 of them are Americans living in Paris. Rental prices vary by arrondissement and apartment size, averaging 1725 euros per month for a furnished apartment, according to Seloger.com in July 2024. That’s about 35 euros per square metre (m2) on average for a one room apartment, 31 euros per m2 for a 2 room apartment, 30 euros per m2 for a 3 or 4 room apartment.
